St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland


Although it is called St. Giles' Cathedral by a lot of people, this really isn't a cathedral since it is a Protestant church rather than Catholic. Its true name is the High Kirk of Edinburgh. (Kirk is the Scottish word for church.) It is the 'mother church' of Presbyterianism. Its history goes back many centuries and it played a major role during the Reformation. John Knox was minister here in the 1500s. Rather than copy a lot of data here, I recommend that you go to its website which contains some interesting information:
