Introducing My Cat

Guiness the Cat, Old Roads Once Traveled, The Guiness Blog

Note: This post was originally published on Bubblews the day I joined, August 27, 2013. It was the second thing I wrote there, immediately after writing my own introduction.

At this time, Guiness the Cat was unemployed. He had yet to find his voice and take up blogging himself. Now he's not only quite the online personality, he's also founder and president of the Professional Cat Bloggers Association.

I rather miss writing about him sometimes, but he's doing quite well writing about himself.

Bubblews was the place where a cat named Guiness became Guiness the Cat. It was rather sad when the time came to remove this post from that site.

Cats are one of my favorite topics to read or write about. Especially when it's my cat!

So I thought I'd introduce my baby to you. Guiness was a hand-me-down cat from my niece. I've had him for quite awhile now, and he is my best buddy. He loves to hang with me ... when he's not totally ignoring me. He'll consent to snuggles and kisses for awhile, but then enough is enough. He doesn't like it when I sing to him.

I've written two articles on him so far, and he's becoming accustomed to fame. When I was setting up an introductory photo for an article that had nothing to do with him, he had to plant himself in the picture. No, I didn't crop him out. Why wouldn't a grown woman with an addiction to filler paper and purple pens have a big black cat in a photo of school supplies?

He's been the sweetest, most patient kitty I could ask for since being diagnosed with diabetes almost a year ago. Sweet, patient, and kitty are not words I immediately associated with shots and ear pricks when I first learned I would have to do them, but he comes willingly for shot time. I'll be sharing more about that as his one-year anniversary approaches next week.

He's giving me that look now, because the alarm on my phone has already gone off to remind me it's time for his insulin, so I need to close. Time for sweet snuggles and treats!

  1. Hi Guiness - You're everywhere! I "found my voice" on Bubblews also and now I write for Persona Paper. I don't write for Bubblews anymore. I don't have my own personal blog either. Maybe someday. I'm sorry about all the shots and ear pricks and other things you have to endure but you sound like a real trooper.

Sincerely, your faithful feline friend and admirer, Mildred the Cat.

    1. Dear Mildred the Cat,

I'm very thankful for Bubblews as it introduced me to you and most of my other feline blogging colleagues. Without Bubblews, there would be no Professional Cat Bloggers Association, either. And the money, while it lasted, bought a lot of cat food and treats. Sigh. I'm glad we both write on Persona Paper now. I really like it there.

Sincerely, your Prince Charming, Guiness the Cat

  2. So have you and Guiness left Bubblews now for good? Or have you left your account there?

    1. We've removed most of our content, but we still post sporadically. Guiness the Cat likes to showcase his YouTube videos there.

  3. I've been thinking of removing some of our old posts, but can't see the point until I have time to put them elsewhere. Maybe I should start with Morpheus and Sylf's posts?
